Prelude

Choral Introit:“I Love You, Lord”
I love you, Lord, and I lift my voice to worship You,
Oh my soul, rejoice.
Take joy, my King, in what you hear,
May it be a sweet, sweet sound in Your ear.

Call to Worship: Psalm 92:1-5
Minister: It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High.
People: To declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night.
Minister: To the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre.
People: For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy.
All: How great are your works, O Lord!

Trinity Hymnal #166: “Wondrous King, All-Glorious”

Wondrous King, all-glorious, sov’reign Lord victorious, oh, receive our praise with favor!
From thee welled God’s kindness tho’ we in our blindness strayed from thee, our blessed Savior.
Strengthen thou, help us now; let our tongues be singing, thee our praises bringing.

Heavens, spread the story of our Maker’s glory, all the pomp of earth obscuring.
Sun, thy rays be sending, thy bright beams expending, light to all the earth assuring.
Moon and star, praise afar him who glorious made you; the vast heavens aid you.

O my soul, rejoicing, sing, thy praises voicing, sing, with hymns of faith adore him!
All who here have being, shout, your voices freeing, bow down in the dust before him.
He is God Sabbaoth; praise alone the Savior, here and there forever.

Hallelujahs render to the Lord most tender, ye who know and love the Savior.
Hallelujahs sing ye, ye redeemed, oh bring ye hearts that yield him glad behavior.
Blest are ye endlessly; sinless there forever, ye shall laud him ever.
Prayer of Invocation

Confession of Sin
Prayer for Pardon
All: Most holy and merciful Father, we acknowledge and confess before you our sinful nature, prone to evil and slow to good. You alone know how often we sin, in wandering from your ways, in wasting our gifts, in forgetting your love. Have mercy upon us, for we are ashamed and sorry for all they ways we fall short of your will. Help us to live in the light, to walk in your ways, according to the commandments of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Assurance of Grace:  Ephesians 1:7-8
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us

Trinity Hymnal #735: Gloria Patri
Offertory: Hebrews 13:16
Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

Prayer of the Church: Elder Brad Tidwell
Psalm 25: “To You I Lift My Soul” (ARP Psalter 25A, tune: TH169]

To You I lift my soul; Lord God, in you I trust.
O do not let me suffer shame, and let my foes not boast.
Yes, those who wait on you no shame will ever see;
Let shame be theirs who without cause behave with treachery.

Instruct me in your paths; Lord, make me know your way. Teach me and make me follow you, that in your truth I'll stay. Since you have been my God, the One who rescues me,
For you I'm waiting all the day, I wait expectantly.

Your tender mercies, Lord, your steadfast love recall,
For these are things that have endured throughout the ages all. My youthful sins, my faults, do not bring these to mind;
O Lord, remember me in love, for you are good and kind.

Reading of Sermon Scripture: 1 Peter 2:1-12
Sermon:  “A Living, Loving Body” by Pastor Joel E. Wood

Trinity Hymnal #261: “What Wondrous Love Is This”

What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul,
what wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss
to bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul,
to bear the dreadful curse for my soul!

To God and to the Lamb, I will sing, I will sing,
to God and to the Lamb, I will sing;
to God and to the Lamb, who is the great I AM,
while millions join the theme, I will sing, I will sing,
while millions join the theme, I will sing!

And when from death I'm free, I'll sing on, I'll sing on,
and when from death I'm free, I'll sing on;
and when from death I'm free, I'll sing and joyful be,
and through eternity I'll sing on, I'll sing on,
and through eternity I'll sing on!
