GREETING & CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader: The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast

love.

People: He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.

Leader: Bless the Lord, all his works, in all places of his dominion.

People: Bless the Lord, O my soul!

PRAYER OF ADORATION, ASSISTANCE, & BLESSING

Trinity Hymnal #110  “Hallelujah, Praise Jehovah”

Hallelujah, praise Jehovah,

from the heavens praise his name;
praise Jehovah in the highest,

all his angels, praise proclaim.

All his hosts, together praise him,

sun and moon and stars on high;

praise him, O ye heavens of heavens,

and you floods above the sky.

Refrain:

Let them praises give Jehovah,

for his name alone is high,

and his glory is exalted,

and his glory is exalted,

and his glory is exalted,

far above the earth and sky.

Let them praises give Jehovah,

they were made at his command;

them forever he established,

his decree shall ever stand.

From the earth, O praise Jehovah,

all you seas, you monsters all,

fire and hail and snow and vapors,

stormy winds that hear his call. [Refrain]

All you fruitful trees and cedars,

all you hills and mountains high;

creeping things and beasts and cattle,

birds that in the heavens fly,

kings of earth, and all you people,

princes great, earth's judges all;

praise his name, young men and maidens,

aged men, and children small. [Refrain]

REFLECTION ON GOD’S LAW

Leader: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul

and with all your mind.

People: This is the great and first commandment.

Leader: God spoke all these words, saying, "I am the Lord your God. You shall have no other gods before me."

People: For although there may be so-called "gods" in heaven or on earth…yet for us there is one God.

Leader: You shall not make for yourself an idol.

People: What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God.

Leader: You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

People: Let your "yes" be yes and your "no" be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.

Leader: Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

People: There remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.

SILENT PRAYER OF CONFESSION

ASSURANCE OF GRACE

Trinity Hymnal #358  “For All the Saints”

For all the saints who from their labors rest,

who thee by faith before the world confessed,

thy name, O Jesus, be forever blest.

Alleluia! Alleluia!

Thou wast their rock, their fortress, and their might;

thou, Lord, their Captain in the well-fought fight;

thou, in the darkness drear, their one true light.

Alleluia! Alleluia!

O may thy soldiers faithful, true, and bold,

fight as the saints who nobly fought of old,

and win with them the victor's crown of gold.

Alleluia! Alleluia!

The golden evening brightens in the west;

soon, soon to faithful warriors comes their rest;

sweet is the calm of paradise the blest.

Alleluia! Alleluia!

But lo! there breaks a yet more glorious day;

the saints triumphant rise in bright array;

the King of glory passes on his way.

Alleluia! Alleluia!

From earth's wide bounds, from ocean's farthest coast,

through gates of pearl streams in the countless host,

singing to Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,

Alleluia! Alleluia!

PRAYER OF THE CHURCH  Elder D. Abbott

Psalm 119:121-128  “I’ve Judged Rightly”

I’ve judged rightly and with justice;

Leave me not lest foes oppress.
Guarantee good for Your servant,

Lest the proud cause me distress.

Your just promise, Your salvation,

My eyes, failing, long to see.

With Your servant deal in mercy,

And Your statutes teach to me.

I’m Your servant; give me insight

That Your statutes I may know.

LORD, it is Your time for action,

For Your law they overthrow.

But I love all Your commandments

More than gold, the finest gold.

So Your precepts I deem upright,

All that’s false in hatred hold.

GOD’S WORD READ Acts 17:1-9

GOD’S WORD PREACHED.

 “The Growing Gospel Mission Goes to Thessalonica”

by Pastor Joel E. Wood

Prayer Of Application & The Lord’s Prayer

All: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.  Amen.

Trinity Hymnal #646  “Jesus, Thou Joy of Loving Hearts”

Jesus, thou joy of loving hearts,

thou fount of life, thou light of men,

from the best bliss that earth imparts

we turn unfilled to thee again.

Thy truth unchanged hath ever stood;

thou savest those that on thee call;

to them that seek thee thou art good,

to them that find thee all in all.

We taste thee, O thou living bread,

and long to feast upon thee still;

we drink of thee, the fountain-head,

and thirst our souls from thee to fill.

Our restless spirits yearn for thee,

where'er our changeful lot is cast;

glad when thy gracious smile we see,

blest when our faith can hold thee fast.

O Jesus, ever with us stay,

make all our moments calm and bright;

chase the dark night of sin away,

shed o'er the world thy holy light.

Hymnal p. 845  “Apostles’ Creed”

Minister: Christian, what do you believe?

All:  I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

WORDS OF INSTITUTION & WARNING

Minister: The Lord be with you;

People: And also with you.

Minister: Lift up your hearts;

People: We lift them up to the Lord.

Minister: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God;

People: It is right to give him thanks and praise.

COMMUNION PRAYER

Approach the Table for the Lord’s Supper

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Song “Jerusalem”

See Him in Jerusalem,

Walking where the crowds are.

Once these streets had sung to Him,

Now they cry for murder.

Such a frail and lonely Man

Holding up the heavy cross.

See Him walking in Jerusalem

On the road to save us.

See Him there upon the hill,

Hear the scorn and laughter;

Silent as a lamb He waits,

Praying to the Father.

See the King who made the sun

And the moon and shining stars.

Let the soldiers hold and nail Him down,

So that He could save them.

See Him there upon the cross,

Now no longer breathing;

Dust that formed the watching crowds,

Takes the blood of Jesus.

Feel the earth is shaking now,

See the veil is split in two,

And He stood before the wrath of God,

Shielding sinners with His blood.

See the empty tomb today,

Death could not contain Him.

Once the Servant of the world,

Now in vict’ry reigning.

Lift your voices to the One,

Who is seated on the throne;

See Him in the New Jerusalem,

Praise the One who saved us!

Lift your voices to the One,

Who is seated on the throne;

See Him in the New Jerusalem,

Praise the One who saved us!

Praise the One who saved us!

Trinity Hymnal #731  “Doxology”

Praise God from whom all blessings flow;

Praise Him, all creatures here below:

Praise Him above, ye heav'nly host,

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost:
