Choral Introit   ““The Peace of God”

The peace of God, which passeth all understanding,

Keep your hearts and minds, keep your hearts and minds

In the knowledge and love of God,

And of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

The peace of God, which passeth all understanding,

Keep your hearts and minds, keep your hearts and minds

In the knowledge and love of God,

And his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

And the blessing of God Almighty,

The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost,

Be amongst you, be amongst you, be amongst you

And remain with you always.  Amen.

GREETING & CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader: Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise.

People: Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting!

All: And let all the people say, “Amen!” Praise the Lord

PRAYER OF ADORATION, ASSISTANCE, & BLESSING

Hymnal #455   “And Can It Be That I Should Gain”

And can it be that I should gain
an int'rest in the Savior's blood?
Died he for me, who caused his pain?
For me, who him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be
that thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

Refrain:
Amazing love! How can it be
that thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

'Tis myst'ry all! Th'Immortal dies:
who can explore his strange design?
In vain the firstborn seraph tries
to sound the depths of love divine.
'Tis mercy all! Let earth adore,
let angel minds inquire no more. [Refrain]

He left his Father's throne above
(so free, so infinite his grace!),
humbled himself (so great his love!),
and bled for all his chosen race.
'Tis mercy all, immense and free;
for, O my God, it found out me. [Refrain]

Long my imprisoned spirit lay
fast bound in sin and nature's night;
thine eye diffused a quick'ning ray;
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
my chains fell off, my heart was free;
I rose, went forth, and followed thee. [Refrain]

No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in him, is mine!
Alive in him, my living Head,
and clothed in righteousness divine,
bold I approach th'eternal throne,
and claim the crown, through Christ, my own. [Refrain]

REFLECTION ON GOD’S LAW

Leader: The Fourth Commandment is:

People: “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates.

Leader: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day.

People: Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy

ASSURANCE OF GRACE   John 6:37

Song   “Come to His Kingdom”

Come to His Kingdom, bow down to His throne,

He is preparing a place for His own,

Those who will thirst not, nor stumble by night;
He is their fountain, His glory, their light.

Straight is His pathway, and narrow the gate,

Broad is the highway to the fiery fate.

Take not a step to the left nor the right,

Wielding His armor to fight the good fight.

Buckling the belt of the truth you confess,

Bearing the breastplate of His righteousness,

Wearing the gospel of peace at your feet,

Fighting as soldier all foes you shall meet.

Holding the strong shield of faith in its place,

Wearing the helmet of His saving grace,

Fighting the darkness, God’s Word as your sword,

Stand firm, the battle belongs to the Lord.

Come to the banquet, the lamb and His bride,

All pain is gone now, all tears have been cried.

Join with the angels, His praises to sing,

Come to His kingdom, for there lives the King!

PRAYER OF THE CHURCH   Elder Dean Abbott

Psalm 149: 1-9   “O Praise the Lord, O Sing Aloud ”

O praise the LORD, O sing aloud,

A new song to the LORD;

Where godly people congregate,

Let them His praise accord.

With joy in their Creator now

Let Isr’el shout and sing;

And so let all of Zion’s sons

Be joyful in their King.

With dancing let them offer up

Their praises to His name;

Let them with sound of harp and drum

Sing psalms of praise to Him.

That people whom the LORD has claimed

Is pleasant in His eyes;

And with salvation’s radiance

The meek He beautifies.

With glory let the godly ones

Exult with lifted heads;

Yes, let them all with gladness shout,

And sing upon their beds.

O let the lofty praise of God

From out their throats be poured,

And let them have within their hands

A sharp two-edged sword.

Upon the nations they shall bring

Revenge and judgment just;

With iron chains their kings and chiefs

They’ll into bondage thrust.

On them the judgment execute

Found written in His word;

This honor all His godly have.

Give praises to the LORD!

GOD’S WORD READ   1 Kings 19:1-18

GOD’S WORD PREACHED.   “What's Your Story?” by Rev. Doug Swagerty

Prayer Of Application & The Lord’s Prayer

All: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.  Amen.

Hymnal #468   " My Faith Has Found a Resting Place”

My faith has found a resting place,

from guilt my soul is freed;

I trust the ever-living One,

his wounds for me shall plead.

Refrain:

I need no other argument,

I need no other plea,

it is enough that Jesus died,

and that he died for me.

Enough for me that Jesus saves,

this ends my fear and doubt;

a sinful soul I come to him,

he’ll never cast me out. [Refrain]

My heart is leaning on the Word,

the written Word of God:

salvation by my Savior’s name,

salvation thro' his blood. [Refrain]

My great Physician heals the sick,

the lost he came to save;

for me his precious blood he shed,

for me his life he gave. [Refrain]

Hymnal p. 845   “Apostles’ Creed”

Minister: Christian, what do you believe?

All:  I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

SACRAMENT OF THE LORD’S SUPPER

Song   “We Will Feast in the House of Zion "

Chorus

We will feast in the house of Zion.

We will sing with our hearts restored.

He has done great things, we will say together.

We will feast and weep no more.

We will not be burned by the fire;

He is the Lord, our God.

We are not consumed by the flood;

Upheld, protected, gathered up. [Chorus]

In the dark of night, before the dawn,

My soul, be not afraid.

For the promised morning, oh, how long?

Oh, God of Jacob, be my strength. [Chorus]

Ev’ry vow we’ve broken and betrayed,

You are the faithful one.

And from the garden to the grave,

Bind us together, bring shalom. [Chorus]
