Welcome and Announcements

Instrumental Introit   “To God Be the Glory”

GREETING & CALL TO WORSHIP   Psalm 108:5–6

Leader: Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!

People: Let your glory be over all the earth!

Leader: That your beloved ones may be delivered.

All: Give salvation by your right hand and answer me!

PRAYER OF ADORATION, ASSISTANCE, & BLESSING

Hymnal #53   “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty”

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!
O my soul, praise him, for he is thy health and salvation!
All ye who hear,
now to his temple draw near,
join me in glad adoration.

Praise to the Lord, who o'er all things so wondrously reigneth,
shelters thee under his wings, yea, so gently sustaineth!
Hast thou not seen
how thy desires e'er have been
granted in what he ordaineth?

Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy work and defend thee!
Surely his goodness and mercy here daily attend thee;
ponder anew
what the Almighty will do,
if with his love he befriend thee.

Praise to the Lord, who with marvelous wisdom hath made thee,
decked thee with health, and with loving hand guided and stayed thee.
How oft in grief
hath not he brought thee relief,
spreading his wings to o'ershade thee!

Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore him!
All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before him!
Let the amen
sound from his people again;
gladly fore'er we adore him.

REFLECTION ON GOD’S LAW

Leader: The Sixth Commandment is:

People: You shalt not murder. (Exodus 20:12)

Leader: Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?

People: Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work? (Proverbs 24:11–12)

SILENT PRAYER OF CONFESSION

ASSURANCE OF GRACE   2 Corinthians 5:21

Hymnal #686   “I Sought the Lord, and Afterward I Knew”

I sought the Lord, and afterward I knew
he moved my soul to seek him, seeking me;
it was not I that found, O Savior true;
no, I was found of thee.

Thou didst reach forth thy hand and mine enfold;
I walked and sank not on the storm-vexed sea -
'twas not so much that I on thee took hold,
as thou, dear Lord, on me.

I find, I walk, I love, but, O the whole
of love is but my answer, Lord, to thee;
for thou wert long beforehand with my soul,
always thou lovedst me.

PRAYER OF THE CHURCH   Elder Brad Tidwell

Hymnal #437   " O God, to Us Show Mercy”

O God, to us show mercy and bless us in

your grace;

cause now to shine upon us the brightness

of your face;

that so your way most holy on earth may

soon be known,

and unto ev'ry people your saving grace be

shown.

O God, let all men praise you, let all the

nations sing;

in ev'ry land let praises and songs of

gladness ring;

for you shall judge the people in truth and

righteousness,

and through the earth the nations shall your

just rule confess.

O God, let people praise you, let all the

nations sing,

for earth in rich abundance to us her fruit

shall bring.

The Lord our God shall bless us, our God

shall blessing send,

and all the earth shall fear him to its

remotest end.

GOD’S WORD READ   Genesis 12:1-3

GOD’S WORD PREACHED.   “A Truly Global Mission (Global Mission)”by Pastor Joel E. Wood

Prayer Of Application & The Lord’s Prayer

All: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.  Amen.

Song   “How Deep the Father's Love for Us”

How deep the Father's love for us,

How vast beyond all measure

That He should give His only Son

To make a wretch His treasure.

How great the pain of searing loss.

The Father turns His face away

As wounds which mar the Chosen One

Bring many sons to glory.

Behold the Man upon a cross,

My sin upon His shoulders.

Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice

Call out among the scoffers.

It was my sin that held Him there

Until it was accomplished;

His dying breath has brought me life.

I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything:

No gifts no pow’r no wisdom.

But I will boast in Jesus Christ:

His death and resurrection.

Why should I gain from His reward?

I cannot give an answer.

But this I know with all my heart:

His wounds have paid my ransom.

Hymnal p. 845   “Apostles’ Creed”

Minister: Christian, what do you believe?

All:  I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

SACRAMENT OF THE LORD’S SUPPER

Song   “Christus Victor”

O Most High, King of the ages,

Great I AM, God of wonders,

By the blood, You have redeemed us,

Led us through mighty waters,

Our strength, our song, our sure salvation.

Now to the Lamb upon the throne,

Be blessing, honor, glory, power,

For the battle You have won.

Hallelujah! Amen.

O Most High, dwelling among us,

Son of man, sent for sinners,

By Your blood, You have redeemed us,

Spotless Lamb, mighty Savior

Who lived, who died, who rose victorious.

Chorus:
Now to the Lamb upon the throne,

Be blessing, honor, glory, power

For the battle You have won.

Hallelujah!

With ev’ry tribe and ev’ry tongue,

We join the anthem of the angels

In the triumph of the Son.

Hallelujah! Amen.

O Most High, King of the nations,

Robed in praise, crowned with splendor,

On that day, who will not tremble

When You stand Christ the Victor,

Who was and is and is forever. [Chorus]

Amen, amen, amen,

Amen, amen, amen,
Amen, amen, amen. [Chorus]

Sing the vict’ry of the Lamb.

Hallelujah! Amen. Amen.
