Holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,

GREETING & CALL TO WORSHIP

Psalm 95:6-7
Leader: Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
People: For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

Hymnal #159    "O Savior, Precious Savior”
O Saviour, precious Saviour,
whom yet unseen we love,
O Name of might and favor,
all other names above;
we worship you, we bless you,
to you alone we sing;
we praise you, and confess you
our holy Lord and King.

O bringer of salvation,
who wondrously have wrought,
yourself the revelation
of love beyond our thought;
we worship you, we bless you,
to you alone we sing;
we praise you, and confess you
our gracious Lord and King.

In you all fulness dwelling,
all grace and pow'r outpours;
the glory all-excelling,
O Son of God, is yours;
we worship you, we bless you,
to you alone we sing;
we praise you, and confess you
our glorious Lord and King.

O grant the consummation
of this our song above
in endless adoration,
and everlasting love;
then shall we praise and bless you
where perfect praises ring,
and evermore confess you
our Savior and our King.

REFLECTION ON GOD’S LAW from Exodus 20:1-17 & N.T. corollaries, ESV
Leader: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
People: This is the great and first commandment. (Matt. 22: 37-38)

Leader: God spoke all these words, saying, "I am the Lord your God. You shall have no other gods before me."
People: For although there may be so-called "gods" in heaven or on earth…yet for us there is one God. (1 Cor. 8:5-6)

Leader: You shall not make for yourself an idol.
People: What agreement has the temple of God with idols?  For we are the temple of the living God. (2 Cor. 6:16)

Leader: You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
People: Let your "yes" be yes and your "no" be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation. (Jam. 5:12)

Leader: Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
People: There remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. (Heb. 4:9-10)

SILENT PRAYER OF CONFESSION
ASSURANCE OF GRACE Psalm 51:1-2
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!

Hymnal #689   “Be Still, My Soul”
Be still, my soul: the Lord is on your side;
bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
leave to your God to order and provide;
in ev'ry change he faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: your best, your heav'nly Friend
through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul: your God will undertake
to guide the future as he has the past.
Your hope, your confidence let nothing shake;
all now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know
his voice who ruled them while he dwelt below.

Be still, my soul: when dearest friends depart,
and all is darkened in the vale of tears,
then shall you better know his love, his heart,
who comes to soothe your sorrow and your fears.
Be still, my soul: your Jesus can repay
from his own fullness all he takes away.

Be still, my soul: the hour is hast'ning on
when we shall be forever with the Lord,
when disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
sorrow forgot, love's purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past,
all safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

PRAYER OF THE CHURCH
Elder Mike Ewing

Psalm 32:1-6  "What Blessedness”
What blessedness belongs to him
Who has forgiven been,
For whom transgressions have been cleared,
And covered is his sin.
Blessed is the one for whom the LORD
Counts no iniquity,
And in whose spirit is no taint
Of insincerity.

I languished, silent in my guilt;
My days were filled with groans.
On me Your hand pressed day and night,
And heat dried up my bones.
My sin I then confessed to You,
Not hiding guiltiness;
I said, “I will before the LORD
Transgressions now confess.”

Then You released me from my sin,
And took its guilt away.
And therefore while You may be found,
Let all the godly pray.
They’ll not be harmed by rising floods.
In You I hide in peace;
You keep me safe, surrounding me
With songs of my release.

GOD’S WORD READ Acts 19:17-41
GOD’S WORD PREACHED. “The Script for Revelation”
by Pastor Joel E. Wood

Prayer Of Application & The Lord’s Prayer
All: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Song “O Come and Mourn with Me Awhile”
O come and mourn with me awhile
O come ye to the Savior's side
Oh come together let us mourn
Jesus our Lord is crucified

Chorus
O love of God O sin of man
In this dread act Your strength is tried
And victory remains with love
Jesus our Lord is crucified

Sev'n times He spake sev'n words of love
And all three hours His silence cried
For mercy on the souls of men
Jesus our Lord is crucified

O break O break hard heart of mine
Thy weak self love and guilty pride
His Pilate and His Judas were
Jesus our Lord is crucified

A broken heart a fount of tears
Ask and they will not be denied
A broken heart love's cradle is
Jesus our Lord is crucified

Hymnal p. 845  “Apostles’ Creed”
Minister: Christian, what do you believe?
All: I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended into Heaven and is seated
at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

SACRAMENT OF THE LORD’S SUPPER
Words of Institution & Warning

Song.   “The Trees of the Field"
You shall go out with joy,
And be led forth with peace.
The mountains and the hills
Will break forth before you.
There'll be shouts of joy
And all the trees of the field
Will clap, will clap their hands.

Chorus:
And all the trees of the field
Will clap their hands,
The trees of the field,
Will clap their hands,
The trees of the field
Will clap their hands,
While you go out with joy.
