Introit – “God Is My Strong Salvation”

GREETING & CALL TO WORSHIP    Psalm 95:6-7
Leader: Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
People: For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.
All: Praise be to God!

PRAYER OF ADORATION, ASSISTANCE AND BLESSING

Trinity Hymnal #358 “For All the Saints”
For all the saints who from their labors rest,
who thee by faith before the world confessed,
thy name, O Jesus, be forever blest.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Thou wast their rock, their fortress, and their might;
thou, Lord, their Captain in the well- fought fight;
thou, in the darkness drear, their one true light.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
O may thy soldiers faithful, true, and bold,
fight as the saints who nobly fought of old,
and win with them the victor's crown of gold.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
The golden evening brightens in the west;
soon, soon to faithful warriors comes their rest;
sweet is the calm of paradise the blest.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
But lo! there breaks a yet more glorious day;
the saints triumphant rise in bright array;
the King of glory passes on his way.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
From earth's wide bounds, from ocean's farthest coast,
through gates of pearl streams in the countless host,
singing to Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
Alleluia! Alleluia!
REFLECTION ON THE LAW

Leader: Honor your father and your mother.
People: Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. (Eph. 6:1)
Leader: You shall not murder. People: Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. (1 Jn. 3:15)
Leader: You shall not commit adultery.
People: Everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. (Mt. 5:28)
Leader: You shall not steal.
People: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. Do your work quietly and earn your own living. (2 Th. 3:10,12)
Leader: You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
People: Having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor. (Eph. 4:25)
Leader: You shall not covet anything that is your neighbor's.
People: For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Gal. 5:14)
Confession of Sin
Assurance of Pardon – Romans 8:1

Hymn (CCLI Song #106879)   “Wonderful, Merciful Savior”
Wonderful merciful Savior,
Precious Redeemer and Friend;
Who would have thought that a Lamb
Could rescue the souls of men?
Oh, You rescue the souls of men.
Chorus: You are the One that we praise,
You are the One we adore.
You give the healing and grace
Our hearts always hunger for,
Oh, our hearts always hunger for.
Counselor Comforter Keeper,
Spirit we long to embrace;
You offer hope when our hearts
Have hopelessly lost the way.
Oh, we hopelessly lost the way. [Chorus]
Almighty, infinite Father,
Faithfully loving your own;
Here in our weakness You find us
Falling before Your throne. [Chorus]
Prayer of the Church: Elder Mike Ewing
Psalm 47:1-9 “All Nations, Clap Your Hands” [Book of Psalms for Worship; tune: Petersham CMD]
All nations, clap your hands for joy;
To God lift shouts and sing!
For awesome is the LORD Most High,
Above all earth great King!
He brings the peoples under us,
With mastery complete;
And He it is who nations all
Subdues beneath our feet.
The land of our inheritance
He chooses out for us,
And He to us the glory gives
Of Jacob whom He loves.
God has ascended with a shout,
The LORD with trumpeting.
Sing praise to God, sing praise, sing praise,
Sing praises to our King.
For God is King of all the earth;
Sing praise with skillfulness.
God rules the nations, God sits on
His throne of holiness.
The princes of the peoples join
As men of Abr’ham’s God –
The shields of earth belong to Him;
Exalted high is God.
God’s Word Read: Isaiah 6:1-8
God’s Word Preached: “The Greater Glory” by Rev. Dr. Bryan Chapell

Prayer of Application and the Lord’s Prayer

All: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.  Amen.

Trinity Hymnal #421  “Soul, Adorn Yourself with Gladness”

Soul, adorn yourself with gladness,
leave the gloomy haunts of sadness,
come into the daylight's splendor,
there with joy your praises render.
Bless the One whose grace unbounded
this amazing banquet founded;
he, though heav'nly, high, and holy,
deigns to dwell with you most lowly.
Hasten as a bride to meet him,
eagerly and gladly greet him.
There he stands already knocking;
quickly, now, your gate unlocking,
open wide the fast-closed portal,
saying to the Lord immortal:
"Come, and leave your loved one never;
dwell within my heart forever."
Now in faith I humbly ponder
over this surpassing wonder
that the bread of life is boundless
though the souls it feeds are countless;
with the choicest wine of heaven
Christ's own blood to us is given.
Oh, most glorious consolation,
pledge and seal of my salvation.
Jesus, source of lasting pleasure,
truest friend and dearest treasure,
peace beyond all understanding,
joy into all life expanding:
humbly now, I bow before you,
love incarnate, I adore you;
worthily let me receive you,
and, so favored, never leave you.
Trinity Hymnal p. 845 - “Apostles Creed”

Minister: Christian, what do you believe?
All:  I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Words of Institution and Warning

Minister: The Lord be with you;
People: And also with you.

Minister: Lift up your hearts;
People: We lift them up to the Lord.

Minister: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God;
People: It is right to give him thanks and praise.

He is exalted, the King is exalted on high;
I will praise Him.
He is exalted, forever exalted,
And I will praise His name!
He is the Lord; forever His truth shall reign.
Heaven and earth
Rejoice in His holy name.
He is exalted,
The King is exalted on high.
