Be holy as I am holy! This command of God in 1 Peter 1:16 should encourage us prioritize the doctrine of God’s holiness. This is the goal for this year’s RefCon with Dr. Derek Rishmawy. Our theme is “Reforming Holiness.” Why “Reforming”? Because God’s truth never changes, but we do! So often we think of Reformation as the doctrines, but the Reforming is what we are to be doing. Aligning, Re-aligning. Correcting. Growing. These are things we seek to do year-by-year as we spend the Friday night and Saturday morning of RefCon together. This week, handbills for the conference were mailed to 116 churches across Southern California. Would you pray that many would come to hear solid, biblical, Reformed teaching about God’s holiness and its significance for us and our churches? Would you come? Let’s be Reforming Holiness together as a congregation, a church family! Register now: https://www.newlifelamesa.org/pages/reformation-conference

Next Sunday, October 11, is our next Explore New Life class. We are also looking forward to our annual Thanksgiving Feast next month! This year also features our celebration of our 60th Anniversary as a church and the end of our Outward to 60 Vision. What a blessed time these last 5 years have been. We have pushed forward in renewing our ministry efforts. So many have given time, talent, ideas, and effort to see the ministries of New Life re-established. We have the opportunity to praise God together for sustaining us through some very challenging events. I hope you’ll be ready to joyfully feast together in thankfulness before God for all he has done, for certainly: “He has done great things!” David Zadok will be with us for that weekend to help us look back on God’s faifhfulness to us.  https://www.newlifelamesa.org/events/thanksgiving-feast-60th-nlpc-anniversary/2026-11-22

This Sunday AM we will spend more time in Acts 23 with Paul as he is being processed through the Roman courts. Acts 23:12-35 helps us know how to response when we have: "Faith Under Fire?” Sunday PM, Pastoral Intern Aaron Philip will open up 2 Peter 1:5-11, expounding "Entrance into the Eternal Kingdom.”

I  can’t wait to worship with you! See you on the Lord’s Day!

Love and blessings,

Pastor Joel
