Thanksgiving is past. What a blessing our “Thanksgiving Feast” was! Thanks, again, to all who helped organize, administrate, set up, and tear down! 2025 has been a strangely quick year. As we look forward to 2026 and all the opportunities she will provide, let me encourage you to join a LIFT group to help you further connect to the church family. No longer stand at the edges and hope for a more meaningful experience of church life. Come on in! The current groups are listed in the attached New Life News and in the back of the Worship Guide on Sunday. There is most likely one near you or with your stage of life in mind; more groups will be forming; and the Session is hopeful the majority of our congregation will take advantage of these times of closer fellowship, learning from Scripture, and prayer, as you Live in Fellowship Together!

This Sunday begins Advent, as we anticipate the return of Christ in the light of his first coming, his first Advent. Our focus this year will be on Malachi 4. I love this chapter, because it so clearly speaks of Jesus, then inaugurates the 400 years of revelational silence when God is setting the stage for the incarnation. This Sunday AM, Advent 1, we’ll be reminded that Christ will return as judge. In the PM, pastoral intern Morgan Loughlean will preach to us from Luke 7:36-50, about “A Meal You'll Never Forget”!

Finally, Walker Scott would remind us all that: “This Sunday, November 30th, is St Andrew’s Day in Scotland. It has been celebrated since 1000AD, recognizing Andrew, one of Christ’s first disciples and the historic Saint of Scotland. Our Presbyterian history originates with the Reformation in Scotland led by men such as George Wishart, John Knox, and Andrew Melville who established the Presbyterian form of church government. So, this Sunday, don the Tartan to celebrate St Andrew’s Day and our Scottish Presbyterian heritage!” Bring it, Scots!

New Life family, I can’t wait to worship with you!

Love & blessings,

Pastor Joel
