It’s beginning to look and feel like Spring around San Diego. Newness of life around us reminds us of resurrection and the life to come after the winter of death. For many, hearts are sad at the loss of dear ones or the threat of death to come in the face of disease. It all makes our hearts long for heaven. The time when, as one dear friends said today, “the best part will be no more goodbyes!” Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus!

In the meantime, we are here, now, to live and love as Christ has called us. Sunday by Sunday, we have the opportunity to experience a foretaste of heaven. Brothers and sisters, gathered around the throne of God, singing his praise, hearing his voice in his word, basking in the love of Jesus… worshipping! I hope you won’t miss this weekend. We will be remembering how Eutychus came “Alive Again” and how we can be comforted by that from Acts 20:7-12. In PM worship, Morgan will be encouraging us with “The Miserable Life”! I’m sure it will be much better than it sounds on paper!

NEXT weekend, we will be getting together to celebrate Rachel Hoss’s life. What a dear sister she was. What an example of creativity, care, and love. She knew that many had been mourning already, so she wanted us to celebrate all Christ had done in and for her! Her desire was for no black clothing to be warn. She wanted us to be reminded of the joys of Jesus’ presence. What an opportunity to consider the beauty of being with our Lord and Master!

Friend, I can’t wait to worship with you this Sunday. Don’t be a stranger. Come to worship and bring someone who needs a little heaven in their life. Together, we can share Jesus’ resurrecting love with them!

Love and blessings,

Pastor Joel
