What a season of joy and grief. On the heals of entering the Advent season, anticipating Christmas and the New Year, our dear sister, Marilyn Hilary, who would have been 77 on Christmas Day, went home to be with the Lord at 4:45a on Thursday. She was a dear Christian woman, raised in the Reformed Faith of the old Christian Reformed Church in Redlands. I look forward to worshipping the Lord with her again some day!

Parents of kids, you will quickly learn on Sunday that the basketball goals are now up in the MAC. We ask that you keep your children from playing on them, especially since the ballast boxes would make a great stage for performances by our more artistic little ones! I understand the temptations! Just please help us keep them safe by not leaving them unattended on the bases and especially not on the backboards! :-)

As we continue to walk into Advent, this Sunday the focus will be on healing, I will be preaching “Hurt” from Malachi 4:2. In PM worship, South Coast Presbytery church planter Rev. Rudy Manrique, who also leads singing for the Southwest Reformed Youth Camp which our students attend every summer, will bring “Forgiveness for the Past, Provision for the Present, Security for the Future” from Lamentations 3:22-24.

I look forward to gathering as God’s House this Sunday with you! I pray you know the grace and peace of our Lord until we see each other this Lord’s Day.

Love & blessings,

Pastor Joel
