Thank you so much for praying for our youth this week, New Life family. Our students were part of 135 campers with 23 counselors, from 31 churches representing the PCA, OPC, URC, RPCGA, and an independent Reformed congregation. Folks came from Southern California, as far away as Hanford and Bakersfield to the North and Utah and Las Vegas to the Northeast. One of the most impressive experiences was watching nearly every single student memorize Colossians 3:9-17 during the week. If you see a young person at church Sunday, ask them if they went to camp and then if they can say their verses for you! The theme was honoring God in your thoughts, words, and deeds. I truly was a blessed time of teaching and fellowship.

We continue to prepare for RefCon 2025. I’m really looking forward to introducing you to Chad and Emily VanDixhoorn. Remember, that’s September 26-27. But I’m ALSO looking forward to October when we will have a New Life Family Reformation Party! It’s in the works, so look for details!

But, before any of that, August 31 is Pastor Connor’s final day with us at New Life. That evening, we will have a meal together in the MAC and celebrate the Underseth Family’s going forth to plant All Saints Presbyterian Church in Carlsbad. We’re excited to see Connor fulfill the Lord’s call on him to church planting. And, we’re thankful that he answered the call to use his gifts with and for us at New Life for the last 5 years. Mark your calendar. Come help us celebrate the Underseths!

This Sunday, I will be preaching “Two Divine Illustrations for Our Evangelistic Encouragement” in AM worship from Acts 17:32-18:4. In PM worship, Pastor Connor will bring “A Promise form the Prophet” in Acts 55:1-13. It promises to be a blessed day of worship and fellowship. I hope to see you there!

Love & blessings,

Pastor Joel
