Choral Introit. “A Call to Joy”
O come rejoicing with joyful singing,
O come rejoicing, come, worship the Lord.
O come rejoicing, O sing alleluia.
With praises ringing, O sing to the Lord a new song.
O come rejoicing. O come and lift your song unto the Lord.
The silent will sing out in praise. The blind will behold Him on that day.
Streams will be flowing in the desert. Each bud will flower as in spring.
The mountains will break forth with singing.
The trees of the forest sing for joy.
Alleluia, sing an alleluia.
Sing unto the Lord. O sing to the Lord with joy.
Words based on Isaiah 35 by J. Paul Williams

GREETING & CALL TO WORSHIP Lamentations 3:22-26
Leader: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end.
People: They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Leader: “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”
People: The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.
Leader: It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
Hymnal #598 "Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah"
Guide me, O thou great Jehovah,
pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but thou art mighty;
hold me with thy pow'rful hand;
Bread of heaven, Bread of heaven,
feed me till I want no more,
feed me till I want no more.
Open now the crystal fountain,
whence the healing stream doth flow;
let the fire and cloudy pillar
lead me all my journey through;
strong Deliv'rer, strong Deliv'rer,
be thou still my strength and shield,
be thou still my strength and shield.
When I tread the verge of Jordan,
bid my anxious fears subside;
Death of death, and hell's Destruction,
land me safe on Canaan's side;
songs of praises, songs of praises
I will ever give to thee,
I will ever give to thee.
REFLECTION ON GOD’S LAW from Exodus 20:1-17 & N.T. corollaries, ESV
Leader: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
People: This is the great and first commandment. (Matt. 22: 37-38)
Leader: God spoke all these words, saying, "I am the Lord your God. You shall have no other gods before me."
People: For although there may be so-called "gods" in heaven or on earth…yet for us there is one God. (1 Cor. 8:5-6)
Leader: You shall not make for yourself an idol.
People: What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God. (2 Cor. 6:16)
Leader: You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
People: Let your "yes" be yes and your "no" be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation. (Jam. 5:12)
Leader: Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
People: There remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. (Heb. 4:9-10)
SILENT PRAYER OF CONFESSION
ASSURANCE OF GRACE Isaiah 43:25
Hymnal #128 “God Moves in a Mysterious Way”
God moves in a mysterious way
his wonders to perform;
he plants his footsteps in the sea,
and rides upon the storm.
Deep in unfathomable mines
of never-failing skill
he treasures up his bright designs,
and works his sovereign will.
Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
the clouds ye so much dread
are big with mercy, and shall break
in blessings on your head.
Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
but trust him for his grace;
behind a frowning providence
he hides a smiling face.
His purposes will ripen fast,
unfolding ev'ry hour;
the bud may have a bitter taste,
but sweet will be the flow'r.
Blind unbelief is sure to err,
and scan his work in vain;
God is his own interpreter,
and he will make it plain.
PRAYER OF THE CHURCH Elder Mike Ewing
Psalm 104:1-8 "My Soul, Bless the Lord!”
My soul, bless the LORD! LORD God, You are great,
With honor arrayed, majestic in state!
You cover Yourself with a garment of light
And stretch out the sky as a curtain by night.
The beams of Your courts in waters You laid;
On wings of the wind Your pathway You made.
The clouds are Your chariot; the winds do Your will;
The flames and the lightnings Your pleasure fulfill.
You set up the earth on foundations sure,
That always it should unshaken endure.
Deep seas like a garment about it You cast;
The waters stood high; over mountains they passed.
But at Your rebuke the high waters fled;
Your thunder they heard and from there they sped.
The mountains arose, and the valleys sank low,
And went to the place You ordained them to go.

GOD’S WORD PREACHED. “The Past Is Prologue” by Rev. Doug Swagerty
Prayer Of Application & The Lord’s Prayer
All: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
Hymnal #421 “Soul, Adorn Yourself with Gladness”
Soul, adorn yourself with gladness,
leave the gloomy haunts of sadness,
come into the daylight's splendor,
there with joy your praises render.
Bless the One whose grace unbounded
this amazing banquet founded;
he, though heav'nly, high, and holy,
deigns to dwell with you most lowly.
Hasten as a bride to meet him,
eagerly and gladly greet him.
There he stands already knocking;
quickly, now, your gate unlocking,
open wide the fast-closed portal,
saying to the Lord immortal:
"Come, and leave your loved one never;
dwell within my heart forever."
Now in faith I humbly ponder
over this surpassing wonder
that the bread of life is boundless
though the souls it feeds are countless;
with the choicest wine of heaven
Christ's own blood to us is given.
Oh, most glorious consolation,
pledge and seal of my salvation.
Jesus, source of lasting pleasure,
truest friend and dearest treasure,
peace beyond all understanding,
joy into all life expanding:
humbly now, I bow before you,
love incarnate, I adore you;
worthily let me receive you,
and, so favored, never leave you.
Hymnal p. 845 “Apostles’ Creed”
Minister: Christian, what do you believe?
All: I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
WORDS OF INSTITUTION & WARNING
Minister: The Lord be with you;
People: And also with you.
Minister: Lift up your hearts;
People: We lift them up to the Lord.
Minister: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God;
People: It is right to give him thanks and praise.

Song. “My Heart Is Filled”
My heart is filled with thankfulness
To Him who bore my pain;
Who plumbed the depths of my disgrace
And gave me life again;
Who crushed my curse of sinfulness
And clothed me with His light
And wrote His law of righteousness
With pow'r upon my heart.
My heart is filled with thankfulness
To Him who walks beside;
Who floods my weaknesses with strength
And causes fears to fly.
Whose ev’ry promise is enough
For ev’ry step I take.
Sustaining me with arms of love
And crowning me with grace.
My heart is filled with thankfulness
To Him who reigns above;
Whose wisdom is my perfect peace,
Whose ev’ry thought is love.
For ev’ry day I have on earth
Is given by the King.
So I will give my life, my all,
To love and follow Him.
