Welcome and Announcements
Orchestra Introit   “O How I Love Jesus.”

GREETING AND CALL TO WORSHIP   Psalm 111:1–2
Leader: Praise the Lord!
People: I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation.

Leader: Great are the works of the Lord.
All: Studied by all who delight in them.

PRAYER OF ADORATION, ASSISTANCE, AND BLESSING
Hymnal #44   “How Great Thou Art”
O Lord my God when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds thy hands have made,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy pow'r thro’out the universe displayed.

Refrain:
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to thee
How great thou art, how great thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to thee:
How great thou art, how great thou art!

When thro’ the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees,
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze; [Refrain]

And when I think that God his Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in,
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin. [Refrain]

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then shall I bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim, my God, how great thou art. [Refrain]

REFLECTION ON GOD’S LAW
Leader: The Seventh Commandment is: You shalt not commit adultery. (Exodus 20:14)
People: For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God. (1 Thessalonians 4:3–5)

Leader: For you may be sure of this,
People: That everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. (Ephesians 5:5)

SILENT PRAYER OF CONFESSION
ASSURANCE OF GRACE   1 Peter 1:3

Song   “Come to His Kingdom”
Come to His Kingdom, bow down to His throne,
He is preparing a place for His own,
Those who will thirst not, nor stumble by night;
He is their fountain, His glory, their light.

Straight is His pathway, and narrow the gate,
Broad is the highway to the fiery fate.
Take not a step to the left nor the right,
Wielding His armor to fight the good fight.

Buckling the belt of the truth you confess,
Bearing the breastplate of His righteousness,
Wearing the gospel of peace at your feet,
Fighting as soldiers all foes you shall meet.

Holding the strong shield of faith in its place,
Wearing the helmet of His saving grace,
Fighting the darkness, God’s Word as your sword,
Stand firm, the battle belongs to the Lord.

Come to the banquet, the Lamb and His bride,
All pain is gone now, all tears have been cried.
Join with the angels, His praises to sing,
Come to His kingdom, for there lives the King!

PRAYER OF THE CHURCH.   Elder Dave Fredrickson

Psalm 17:1-7   “Consider, Lord, A Righteous Cause”
Consider, LORD, a righteous cause;
O listen to my cry!
Give Your attention to my prayer,
For my lips do not lie.
Let justice from Your presence come
By vindicating me;
So let Your eyes see everything
With perfect equity.

You came by night and tested me,
You searched my heart within;
You probed and found no wrong intent,
I’ll keep my mouth from sin.
I’m kept from vio-lence by the word
As spoken from Your lips.
My foot I’ve kept upon Your path,
And so it never slips.

On You, O God, my soul has called,
For You will answer me.
O listen to my earnest words!
Incline Your ear to me!
In wondrous and amazing ways
Your lovingkindness show;
Your right hand saves those trusting You,
To hide them from the foe.

GOD’S WORD READ   1 John 1:5-22
GOD’S WORD PREACHED.   “God is Light. Think What's Right” by Assistant Pastor Jim Megchelsen

Prayer of Application and the Lord’s Prayer
All: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.  Amen.

Song   “Give Thanks”
Give thanks with a grateful heart;
Give thanks to the Holy One;
Give thanks because He's given
Jesus Christ, His Son. [Repeat]

And now let the weak say “I am strong,”
Let the poor say “I am rich,”
Because of what the Lord has done for us. [Repeat]

Give thanks!

Hymnal p. 845   “Apostles’ Creed”
Minister: Christian, what do you believe?
All:  I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

SACRAMENT OF THE LORD’S SUPPER
Words of Institution and Warning

Hymnal #630   “Eternal Father, Strong to Save"
Eternal Father, strong to save,
whose arm doth bind the restless wave,
who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep
its own appointed limits keep:
O hear us when we cry to thee
for those in peril on the sea.

O Savior, whose almighty word
the winds and waves submissive heard,
who walkedst on the foaming deep
and calm amid its rage didst sleep:
O hear us when we cry to thee
for those in peril on the sea.

O sacred Spirit, who didst brood
upon the chaos dark and rude,
who badd'st its angry tumult cease,
and gavest light and life and peace:
O hear us when we cry to thee
for those in peril on the sea.

O Trinity of love and pow'r,
our brethren shield in danger's hour;
from rock and tempest, fire and foe,
protect them wheresoe'er they go;
and ever let there rise to thee
glad hymns of praise from land and sea.

Hymnal #731:   “Doxology”
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heav'nly host:
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
