Welcome and Announcements

GREETING AND CALL TO WORSHIP   Psalm 107:1–3
Leader: Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
People: For his steadfast love endures forever!

Leader: Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble.
All: And gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.

PRAYER OF ADORATION, ASSISTANCE, & BLESSING

Hymnal #355  “We Are God's People”
We are God's people, the chosen of the Lord,
born of His Spirit, established by His Word;
our cornerstone is Christ alone,
and strong in Him we stand:
O let us live transparently,
and walk heart to heart and hand in hand.

We are God’s loved ones, the Bride of Christ our Lord,
for we have known it, the love of God outpoured;
now let us learn how to return
the gift of love once giv’n:
O let us share each joy and care,
and live with a zeal that pleases heav’n.

We are the Body of which the Lord is Head,
called to obey him, now risen from the dead;
he will us be a family, diverse yet truly one:
O let us give our gifts to God,
and so shall his work on earth be done.

We are a temple, the Spirit's dwelling place,
formed in great weakness, a cup to hold God's grace;
we die alone, for on its own each ember loses fire:
yet joined in one the flame burns on
to give warmth and light, and to inspire.

REFLECTION ON GOD’S LAW
Leader: What is the sum of the six commandments which contain our duty to man?
People: To love our neighbor as ourselves, and to do to others what we would have them to do to us.

Leader: Jesus said:
People: “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.”
(Matthew 7:12)

SILENT PRAYER OF CONFESSION
ASSURANCE OF GRACE   Ephesians 1:7

Song  “With All My Heart”
With all my heart,
I will follow after You.
With all my soul,
I will praise You, O Lord.
With all the strength
That You have given me,
I'll not be led astray.
With all my heart,
I will walk in Your ways.

PRAYER OF THE CHURCH.   Elder Bill Wood

Psalm 38:1-5   “Amidst Thy Wrath”
All my desire to Thee is known,
Thine eye counts ev’ry tear;
And ev’ry sign and ev’ry groan,
Is noticed by Thine ear.

Thou art my God, my only hope,
My God will hear my cry;
My God will bear my spirit up,
When Satan bids me die.

My foot is ever apt to slide,
My foes rejoice to see’t;
They rise their pleasure and their pride
When they supplant my feet.

But I’ll confess my guilt to Thee,
And grieve for all my sin;
I’ll mourn how weak my graces are
And beg support divine.

My God, forgive my follies past,
And be forever neigh;
O Lord of my salvation, haste,
Before Thy servant die.

Prayer Of Application & The Lord’s Prayer

Hymnal #264 “Jesus, Keep Me near the Cross”
Jesus, keep me near the cross;
there a precious fountain,
free to all — a healing stream —
flows from Calv'ry's mountain.

Refrain:
In the cross, in the cross, be my glory ever;
till my raptured soul shall find rest beyond the river.

Near the cross, a trembling soul,
love and mercy found me;
there the Bright and Morning Star
shed its beams around me. [Refrain]

Near the cross! O Lamb of God,
bring its scenes before me;
help me walk from day to day
with its shadow o'er me. [Refrain]

Near the cross I'll watch and wait,
hoping, trusting ever,
till I reach the golden strand
just beyond the river. [Refrain]

Hymnal p. 845 “Apostles’ Creed”
Minister: Christian, what do you believe?
All: I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

SACRAMENT OF THE LORD’S SUPPER
Words of Institution and Warning
Minister: The Lord be with you;
People: And also with you.

Minister: Lift up your hearts;
People: We lift them up to the Lord.

Minister: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God;
People: It is right to give him thanks and praise.

Song “Death to Life"
Dead by birth but always proud; blinded fool, God’s wrath my shroud
Lusting, lost, this earth I trod; ever hating man and God
Helpless, hopeless, sold in sin; dead and dark I was within

Christ, the ever living Son, took the guilt of those He won
Blood-bought grace from Calvary saves with endless mercy free
He called others, I’m apart; dare He touch my leprous heart?

Gift of God, His work alone took away my heart of stone
All of Him and all of grace; on His cross He took my place
Glory to my God above; life is mine because of love

I, with Him, was crucified; by God’s law, in Him I died
Risen from the grave, I’m free; yet not I, but Christ in me
Born again by Spirit’s pow’r, loving God and man each hour

Earthly trials are almost done; nearer now than when begun
Hope that does not fade away; looking, longing, for that day
Pure, He will my body raise; endless glory, endless praise

Hymnal #731: “Doxology”
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heav'nly host:
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
