Welcome and Announcements
Introit
Call to Worship: Psalm 149:1-5
Leader: Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of the godly!
People: Let Israel be glad in his Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!

Leader: Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre!
People: For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation.

Leader: Let the godly exult in glory; let them sing for joy on their beds.

PRAYER OF ADORATION, ASSISTANCE & BLESSING

Trinity Hymnal #15: “Stand Up and Bless the Lord”
Stand up and bless the Lord,
you people of his choice;
stand up and bless the Lord your God
with heart and soul and voice.

Though high above all praise,
above all blessing high,
who would not fear God's holy name,
and laud and magnify?

O for the living flame
from his own altar brought,
to touch our lips, our minds inspire,
and wing to heav'n our thought!

God is our strength and song,
and his salvation ours;
then be his love in Christ proclaimed
with all our ransomed pow'rs.

Stand up and bless the Lord,
the Lord your God adore;
stand up and bless his glorious name
henceforth forevermore.

REFLECTION ON GOD’S LAW
Leader: Honor your father and your mother.
People: Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. (Eph. 6:1)

Leader: You shall not murder. People: Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. (1 Jn. 3:15)

Leader: You shall not commit adultery.
People: Everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. (Mt. 5:28)

Leader: You shall not steal. People: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. Do your work quietly and earn your own living. (2 Th. 3:10,12)

Leader: You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. People: Having put away falsehood,

let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor. (Eph. 4:25)

Leader: You shall not covet anything that is your neighbor's.
People: For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Gal. 5:14)

SILENT CONFESSION OF SIN
ASSURANCE OF PARDON: Galatians 3:13
Trinity Hymnal #629 “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”
What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry ev'rything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry ev'rything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged: take it to the Lord in prayer!
Can we find a friend so faithful, who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our ev'ry weakness– take it to the Lord in prayer!

Are we weak and heavy-laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge– take it to the Lord in prayer!
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In his arms he'll take and shield thee; thou wilt find a solace there.

Prayer of the Church: Elder Dean Abbott

Psalm 71:9-15 “Do Not Forsake Old Age”
Do not forsake me in old age;
When strength fails, leave me not.
For enemies against me speak;
To take my life, they plot.

They say, “God has forsaken him;
Come seize him, none will save.”
O God, do not be far from me;
God, hurry to my aid.

Let all my foes be swallowed up,
And put them all to shame;
Clothe them with scorn who seek my hurt,
Reproach bring on their name.

But as for me, I’ll always hope,
And add to all Your praise.
All day I’ll tell Your saving acts,
Your countless righteous ways.

GOD’S WORD READ: Acts 6:1-7
GOD’S WORD PREACHED: “Feeding Souls and Stomachs” by Pastor Joel E. Wood

Prayer of Application & the Lord’s Prayer
All: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Trinity Hymnal #247 “O Sacred Head, Now Wounded”
O sacred Head, now wounded,
with grief and shame weighed down;
now scornfully surrounded
with thorns, thine only crown;
O sacred Head, what glory,
what bliss till now was thine!
Yet, though despised and gory,
I joy to call thee mine.

What thou, my Lord, hast suffered
was all for sinners' gain:
mine, mine was the transgression,
but thine the deadly pain.
Lo, here I fall, my Savior! 'Tis I deserve thy place
look on me with thy favor,
vouchsafe to me thy grace.

What language shall I borrow
to thank thee, dearest Friend,
for this, thy dying sorrow,
thy pity without end?
O make me thine forever;
and should I fainting be,
Lord, let me never, never
outlive my love to thee.

Hymnal p. 845 “Apostles’ Creed”

Minister: Christian, what do you believe?
All: I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

WORDS OF INSTITUTION & WARNING
Minister: The Lord be with you;
People: And also with you.
Minister: Lift up your hearts;
People: We lift them up to the Lord.
Minister: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God;
People: It is right to give him thanks and praise.

Song of Praise: “10,000 Reasons”
Chorus: Bless the Lord O my soul O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before O my soul I’ll worship your holy name
The sun comes up it's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes [Chorus]

You're rich in love and You're slow to anger
Your name is great and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find [Chorus]

And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years, and then forevermore! [Chorus 2x]
