Sunday School
Sunday School Mission and Goal
In full reliance upon the most sovereign will and wise providence of our Creator, the mission of the Youth Sunday School ministry of New Life Presbyterian Church is to teach our covenant children the truth about God and what duty He requires of them, as revealed in the Scriptures. Our goal is to be used of our Lord to help train and equip our covenant children to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Our hope is that each of our covenant children will grow to deeply love Christ as Savior and Lord.
Understanding that parents have a biblical mandate to teach their children, and that the elders of the church are commanded to shepherd the flock of Christ, the Sunday School ministry exists as an aide to both. We encourage all parents to coordinate with teachers for classroom visits, to ask questions and to discuss any concerns they may have. Regular and open communication among the Sunday School staff, the parents and the Session is essential.
Children's Sunday School Classes
There are seven class levels in the Youth Sunday School ministry:
- Sonbeams (ages 2 and 3),
- 4s and 5s Alive! (includes kindergarten)
- 1st and 2nd grades
- 3rd and 4th grades
- 5th and 6th grades
- Junior High (7th thru 9th grades, 9th grade optional)
- High School (9th thru 12th grades, 9th grade optional)
