New Life La Mesa Diaconate

The New Life La Mesa Diaconal board is here to serve the congregation, to provide assistance to those experiencing difficulties and challenges.

Deacon’s are called ultimately with the purpose of building up and strengthening the Lord’s kingdom. It is our collective desire to be used by God here, today.

Peter Chapman

I have been at New Life for almost 10 years now and I met my lovely wife here (in the greeting line). I have always loved serving and there is nothing like helping build the Lords Kingdom on Earth by being a deacon. I see my role as a Moderator more like those old black and white pictures of telephone operators – just making sure connections are made and things are followed through on.

Beyond the bible, I consider the best book on deaconing that I’ve read to be Dr. Timothy Keller’s “Ministries of Mercy” and use it frequently to help me through tough areas. As an aside I am also the webmaster.

Jack Creedon

Jack has been a deacon for almost 25 years with New Life, we all rely on him for matters of experience, especially with walk-in’s. Jack has been formerly a Treasurer and Moderator for the board.

He is married to Deborah, and they have two sons, Joshua and Daniel.

Shane Ferrebee, Clerk

Our newest deacon, Shane has been helping the diaconate in manifold ways long before he joined us, thus he was a natural fit. He also is a Sunday School teacher.

Shane is married to Katie.

Dave Kocher – Assistant to the Deacons

Dave is an assistant to the Deacons and is the Treasurer as well. Dave’s natural heart towards helping others, for service and his following the Lord for most of his life provide a great contribution to the board. He also serves as the organ player and is a Sunday School teacher to the Juniors.

Dave is married to Connie and they have two grown daughters.

Christopher Miladin

Also a long-time deacon here at New Life and the son of the former pastor, Christopher brings un-matched enthusiasm and a heart for Special Needs individuals to the board. Christopher dedicates much time to prayer and it shows.

He is married to Cheryl and they have two teenage daughters.

Gary Pavlovich, Moderator

Gary has a tremendous heart for others and brings a solid biblical grounding to the board as well. He has taken a keen interest in security matters which is vital for a church our size.

Gary is married to Karen and they have an adult son and daughter. He also has a very fast car, ask him about it.

Stephen Yerbury

As the Clerk, Steve brings a much needed gift of detail. He has a “let’s help” type of attitude that motivates all of us that’s coupled with a true servant’s heart. He also is a very diligent prayer warrior.

Steve is an avid hiker going on insane treks that would leave many of a less stout heart writhing in pain in the dust. He and his wife Teresa have 3 grown children.
