OK cadets and dads, Next Stop Field Day! (If you can’t make it to Field Day, then we’ll miss you! And you can disregard the rest of this message)

So here’s something that will be VERY helpful. Please everybody send your cadets to Field Day Pre-Numbered. I have assigned 4-digit numbers to all our cadets, below (whether anybody comes to Field Day or not, it doesn’t matter if some numbers go unused). Please look up your boys’ numbers, and write it with a fat black marker (i.e. sharpie) on duct tape on the upper back of their cadet shirt. If for some reason you can’t or forget, that’s ok, but if MOST of the boys arrive pre-numbered, that will be a really big help come Saturday morning when we’re all running around like crazy.

Everybody who is not camping, please be at Calvin Christian High School in Escondido by 8am. There is a critical planning meeting at 8:30, and then a morning assembly before kicking off the activities at 9. And apart from that, all of us dads and counselors will need to put our heads together to divide up our time between staffing the knot tables (and maybe a little at pup tent), and leading our boys around to the activities.

All dads coming to Field Day, please read my strategy post from yesterday. In short though, we want to get ALL possible non-competitive points (6 punches, Flag, Landmarks), and spend the rest of our time strategically trying to pick up competitive points (in our strong areas, and in undercompeted weak areas).
