Field Day is upon us, this Saturday Dec 3, at Calvin Christian High School in Escondido. One option is to wake up early to be there at 8am, ready to compete, OR, you could be totally awesome and camp the night before! The schedule is usually:
- 8:00 Counselor Meeting
- 8:30 Opening ceremonies/devotion
- 9:00-12:00 Morning events (skills)
- 12:00 Lunch
- 12:30? 1:00 – 3:00-3:30? Afternoon events (athletics)
- 3:30? 4:00? Awards/Closing
- 5:00 Ready to leave
So as a club, we need to know which boys, and which dads can be where when. For one thing, we need to choose teams for some events (2-man pup-tent/shelter building, 4-man relays). For another, we need to ensure the knots table is covered with 3-4 people from 9-12 (and give some coverage to pup tent as well), and make sure for the rest of the time dads are shepherding boys around (especially the youngest) to all the different events they need to do.
Watch for my next post on Field Day Strategy, so we can be thinking this week about getting our boys to the events that will help our team compete well!
But in the meantime, please RSVP, with a comment below, or with an email to any counselor, what boys/dads will be at Field Day (and who camping the night before).
